Bagaimana Penerima Manfaat Membentuk Akuntabilitas NGO

NGO accountability is often understood as the responsibility of organizations to demonstrate their performance and impact. However, beneficiaries are not merely recipients of NGO programs. They can also actively shape how accountability is produced.

In this talk, Amanda Acintya from the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada presents research on how beneficiaries participate in and co-produce NGO accountability in Indonesia. Using a case study of an Indonesian NGO, the study examines how beneficiary participation interacts with organizational practices, accountability metrics, and power relations.

The findings show that beneficiaries exercise agency through everyday participation, adaptation, and negotiation, shaping how NGO programs are implemented and how accountability is enacted in practice.
